NaNoWriMo and Publishing
Liz-C — Mon, 11/03/2008 - 16:12
Another November and another NaNoWriMo has started. Unfortunately, I haven't started writing yet, though I have got at least the first three pages in my head I just need to do it.
I will be putting it up on the site so I can work on it anywhere I go, but it will be unpublished for now. If I feel really good about it I might send it off to be published. Maybe.
Doo Wop

First note: I think I use too many keywords at times.
Right, so I have been watching some movies from my childhood. The main one that really sticks in my mind is Stand By Me, the movie based on the novella 'The Body' by Stephen King.
The Song "Stand By Me - Ben E. King"
I think the reason is the movie itself was about a "simpler time". Though there was a great deal of trouble then too, for a tween, life was filled with more 'physical' adventures, the seemingly slower loss of innocence and more of a sense of closeness between friends. Maybe it’s just this movie, but then I don’t think so.
Entertaining the Shrew

Alright, so the beginning part of the morning was interesting. Well, as interesting as it could be. As it crept later though, it became less and less interesting. It's because I am not necessarily working on what I would like to.
It's quite difficult to start your own game studio and also work in the financial sector to make ends meet. Now, its not that I don't enjoy finances and such (I did try for my SEC Series 6 certification when I was 17), but I am essentially doing long-put-off data entry at the moment, i.e. "Here's a ton of stuff we haven't looked at in 10 or more years, go through it all and enter it into our (fairly) new system!" or something similar, normally having to do with items that haven't been looked at much less thought about in more than a decade.
Either way, I felt it would be good if I took a few minutes here to describe my state and a little more about me.
So, I read a few entertainment news blogs to give my brain a break from names and numbers, Gama and Kotaku are my main game ones, but there is another dirty, little, secret one I refer to in times of great need.
