Best. Battleground. Ever.

So, I play WOW (World of Warcraft for those that haven't been on the internet in three years) and last night was the best night ever.
I don't get to play much with work and school and whatever else catches my fancy, but sometimes I just like to do a few quests or hit a battleground or two. Last night was one of those nights where I just wanted to sneak in a few kills in a battleground. It helps that they're doing the Olympic tie-ins and you get a pet (ZOMG!LovesCollectingPets!)
For those that know me, they know that I am not really good at games in a traditional sense, but I find my own way to play. It also doesn't help that I was playing on my lvl 30 Hordie too, gods I am wondering why the rest of the group didn't shoot us (I team with my roommate, also a lvl 30 hordie).
Either way, here's how it went down. After easily winning the first BG, then losing horribly in the second, our third BG was heading south faster than you can say "For the Horde!"
In the first 2-3 minutes, the Allies had capped twice and had our flag for the third time. We had fluctuated team members at one poing having 8 horde to 10 allies. When we finally recovered players and the rest of the team figured out how to play in a bg, we were 9 horde to 10 allies with the alliance flag waiting to be capped. Our newer team members knew what they were doing, they took down the flag carrier and we capped. Though I do not know if any of us had hope quite yet.
The alliance kept coming of course, it was close a few times but we continued to juggle their flag. During this time an Ally rogue began camping the bottom of the hill from our spawn point.
I died.
Horrible, painful deaths. Till someone came while he was distracted with killing me and wiped him out. Through all my deaths we capped again!
We were now tied with the Alliance, making a grand comeback that I am sure most of our team thought we could never do. I knew at that point that I either protect the flag or protect our flag carrier.
The protecting the flag failed, by the time I had respawned from dying to the rogue, the Draenai mage had already gone down the tunnel with it. But we had their flag and we coming up the middle. I tried one last time to catch the mage and died, instantly respawning to follow the other three up the ramp to help protect the flag carrier.
First Ally that came to get us was one Night Elf rogue who went down as they were coming out of stealth, then a duo came up, a hunter and mage who took a little longer for us to take down. We were waiting for the rest of our team to retrieve our flag.
The debuffs for the flag carriers hit and we heard the sweet sound of our flag being returned to base. The rogue flag carrier didn't move, but it didn't matter, an Alliance hunter that had been trying to get to our carrier picked up our flag. Everyone but our flag carrier and me jumped down to wail on the hunter.
Our flag was returned again and I am still standing with the carrier, telling him to go cap, "Go! Go! Go!" everyone on our team was yelling. I turn around to face the carrier to see only the Alliance flag, alone and cold.
Our flag carrier had lagged out. I hear my roommate in the other room going after a paladin that was camping our flag.
First instinct was to grab the flag, but I lagged! I didn't want to jump down without the flag and have everyone scrambling to get back up to grab it. I finally caught up, had the flag attached to my back and took a leap of faith right in front of my flag. I jump into it to cap and win the battleground.
This was the first time I ever capped a flag and certainly not such a close call to win the game.
So that is the story of the best battleground ever.
